Lift-Accessed Mountain Bike Operations

Lift-Accessed Mountain Bike Operations

Construction will begin this summer on a number of lift and maintenance infrastructure upgrades that are set to greatly enhance the on-mountain experience at Powder Mountain. As excited as we are about building that future, these projects will have an impact on our upcoming summer operations.

We will not be operating lift-accessed mountain biking this summer (2024) due to on-mountain summer construction needs. We appreciate all of the planning and hard work that has gone into making lift-serviced mountain biking at Powder possible for the past two summers, however after evaluating all options, this is a necessary step in order to complete our ambitious plans of installing four new lifts.

In addition to lift access, much of Powder’s cross-country MTB trail system will also be impacted by construction. We’ll keep trails open and accessible wherever possible, but with safety as a primary concern, rolling trail closures will be necessary.

Mountain Biking is a big part of the summer experience at Powder. We felt and shared your enthusiasm for the lift serviced offering over the last two summers, and we understand this news will disappoint some.

What you can expect:

  • Construction will impact trails and accessibility. Once construction begins this summer we’ll provide regular updates on our website so you can plan your rides accordingly.
  • Parking for cross-country and trail riding will be out of Brim trail at the end of Summit Pass Road.
  • For bike rentals, Level 9 Sports is an excellent and trusted local resource. Powder homeowners may contact neighbors@powdermountain.com for more information.
  • Riders will assume their own risks. Powder Mountain staff won’t be patrolling trails or on call to provide rescue services on the trail system.
