NEW!! 4 x 4 Adventure Tour at Powder Mountain

Powder Mountain mechanics, Roger Arave and Evan Miller, designed and built the off-road vehicle so that it could climb the steep and rocky terrain that serves as ski slopes during the winter months. 42 inch tires, a full roll cage and a canvas top in case of inclement weather provide a comfortable and safe excursion for guests. Incredible views, conquering steep slopes, and seeing wildlife in their native habitat create a memorable experience.

The guided tours will take guests to spectacular sites with amazing views over the 10,000+ acres within the resort that would otherwise be inaccessible to the public by vehicle. It is a great excursion to check out fall colors in the Wasatch Mountains. Each three-hour tour will be custom tailored to meet the desires of the individual guests and to take advantage of the changing scenery, wildlife, and weather. Typical areas to be explored include Lightning Ridge, Cobabe Canyon and Three Mile Trail to Hidden Lake. The overlook into Ogden Valley from the south end of the property includes all of Ogden Valley, the Great Salt Lake, Uintah Mountains, Wyoming, Idaho and Nevada.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling Wolf Creek Adventures at 801-745-2000 or emailing adventures@wolfcreekutah.com

Powzilla Debuts At The Ogden Valley Balloon Festival

Powzilla made its debut at the 14th annual Ogden Valley Balloon Festival. Always a fun time, the balloon festival features balloon launches, arts and craft booths along with live entertainment over an entire weekend.

Powder Mountain sponsored a booth selling season passes, providing information about the resort, and of course promoting summer tours of Powder Mountain on the famed "Powzilla".
The appropriately named "Powzilla" is an off-road, 4x4 vehicle that will allow summer tours of Powder Mountain not accessible by regular vehicles. Other than the spectacular views, beautiful meadows, wildflowers, and wildlife Powder Mountain has to offer in the summer, a ride on Powzilla is just plain FUN!

Reservations are required and can be made through Wolf Creek Adventures by calling 801-745-2000 or email adventures@wolfcreekresort.com

Powder Mountain 08/09 Season Pass Sale Begins August 1

Eden, UT July 30, 2008 - Powder Mountain's 2008-09 season pass sale that kicks off August 1 offers a different twist to the traditional preseason promotions.

In prior years, season pass prices increased in September and again in November. Procrastinators should be aware that the increase in the pass price this year is based on the number of season passes sold rather than the date. For example, the lowest price of $650 for an adult pass will be available to the first 300 purchasers. Once 300 passes are sold the price increases to $715. The price jumps again once 550 passes have been purchased.

In response to the rising prices at the pump, Powder Mountain is offering free shuttle service from Eden to our guests. We have also lowered the K -12 and military season pass prices. For the first time, discounted season pass rates will also be extended to retired military. For a complete list of season pass prices, go to www.powdermountain.com.

A weekday discount card for Utah residents, the Utah Powder Pass, was offered for the first time last season. The Utah Powder Pass will only cost $20 if purchased by September 1. "The program was so popular with our local customers that we decided to reward their loyalty by offering an even bigger weekday discount this season," remarked Gregg Greer, President and CEO of Powder Mountain Resort Management. "With the Utah Powder Pass locals save between 29 - 35% on a lift pass. For example, you save $16 on an adult day pass."

About Powder Mountain Resort

Located 19 miles from Ogden, Powder Mountain Resort offers over 5,500 acres of skiable terrain. In both 2006 and 2007, SKI Magazine rated Powder Mountain in the top two for snow quality and the top three for value. Plans to grow the resort into a world-class destination are already underway.

Powder Mountain in the summer

We all know Powder Mountain is beautiful in the winter, but many aren't aware that Powder Mountain is just as beautiful in the summer. Check out these photos Nancy and Pam took recently on a hike.

One year anniversary

Powder Mountain Resort Management, LLC is pleased to announce that July 1st marked the one year anniversary of new management of the resort. To celebrate, the year-round staff at Powder Mountain took a break from summer time lift and trail maintenance to celebrate with pizza and cake. We would like to thank our patrons for making this year a success and look forward to many more successful years to come.

07/08 Employee Party

The last fling for the 07/08 season was the Employee Party on Saturday, April 19. Around 300 employees and their families shredded one last time at Hidden Lake, joined in games and feasted at a massive barbeque. To honor the front line staff, management manned Hidden Lake lift, ran games, served food and gave out goodies. No one left empty handed and Wes Goldsberry won the grand prize - a new set of Solomon skis!

Congratulations to Richard Wood, i.e. Woody. He is the first recipient of the James Peak Lifetime Achievement Award. For many years, Woody has worn two hats at Powder Mountain - Manager of Night Operations and Manager of the Shuttle Department. Woody started at Powder Mountain in 1982, around the time that Powder Country began operation. His bus quickly became known as the "only four wheel drive lift" in the country and many know Powder Country as "Woody World". In the height of the season, Powder Country shuttles often transport 1,000 to 2,000 riders a day. The Powder Mountain fleet of 5 buses and 2 vans run regular pick ups at Eden lodging properties and are often chartered by groups staying in Ogden or Layton. No matter the weather conditions you feel safe with Woody at the wheel!

Unfortunately, everyone was having too much fun to take many photos, but here are just a few of the recipients of 07/08 employee awards.

Thanks to our great prize sponsors: Solomon, Descente, Scott, Diamond Peaks Ski Shop, Hampton Inn Layton, Alpine Pizza and Canyon Sports.
